Pool Heating [1]

Pool Heating

Solar Heating, Gas Heating and Electric Heat Pumps are all methods used to heat pools. For $6000 - $8,000 an average pool can be heated and provide swimming for at least six months of the year.

If you have an area on a roof with aspects to North and West then Solar can be an economic and effective way of producing heat for the pool.

Heat pumps have taken over as the most popular form of heating due to their use of atmospheric heat to generate energy and thus create heat for the pool.

Pool covers are essential if heating is installed, to retain the heat generated and minimize running costs.

For the average size pool (North Island) up to 50m2  surface area with a cover, we recommend a 13kw or 17kw kw Heat Pump.

Swimming Pool Heatpumps

The C Series is the top of the line range of heat pumps offered by Oasis.
The Oasis C Series units have an automatic reverse cycle defrost system which allows them to operate in temperatures below 0°C.

At approximately 10°C, all heat pumps will start to ice up.
At low ambient air temperatures the Oasis C Series will inject hot refrigerant through the coils allowing the ice to melt and the unit will keep operating. These Heat pumps use ozone friendly and highly efficient R410A/R407 refrigerant to ensure optimum performance.

The units are also fitted with the highest quality, world class digital controller to drive the entire system. At the touch of a button you can adjust the temperature to what you desire.

It’s vital that you match the correct size heat pump to the correct size pool. Consider what temperature
you would like to maintain in your pool as well as how long you want to swim for. The selection chart
below is based on a pool temperature of 28˚C with thermal cover, using an extended season which runs
    from Labour Weekend to Easter.

We highly recommend using a pool cover, we can help you select the correct cover for your pool.
*NOTE This heat pump selection chart is a guide only. For a specific load calculation where there are wet edges, ground water, no covers or any other unususal characteristic please contact us for further advice.
